Moot on innovative solutions for food, medicine, industry
LAHORE: (Monday, October 13, 2025): Punjab University Institute of Zoology in collaboration with Applied Zoological Society of Pakistan and Government College University Faisalabad organized 8th international conference on ‘Applied Zoology (ICAZ-2025)’ with the theme of interdisciplinary approaches for sustainable world: fostering innovative solutions for food, medicine and industry at Faisal Auditorium here on Monday. On this occasion, PU VC Prof Dr Muhammad Ali, GCUF VC Dr Rauf-i-Azam, Director General Punjab Agriculture Drug and Food Authority Dr Talat Naseer Pasha, UHE VC Prof Dr Zaib-un-Nisa, Dean Faculty of Life Sciences, GCUF and Vice Chairperson AZSP Prof Dr Farhat Jabeen, Director, Institute of Zoology Prof Dr Nabeela Rohi, organizing secretary, AZSP Prof Dr Azhar Rasul, eminent scientists, researchers, and academicians from around the globe, faculty members and students were present. In this conference, the participants discussed the latest advancements and innovations in the field of applied zoological sciences. In his address, PU VC Prof Dr Muhammad Ali served as the patron-in-chief of the conference and delivered the welcome address. He emphasized the role of scientific collaboration and innovation in addressing global zoological and environmental challenges. He said that ICAZ-2025 served as a valuable platform for promoting scientific exchange, strengthening academic networks, and fostering international cooperation to advance research and innovation in applied zoological sciences. He said that around 1200 students from different universities will present 400 research papers in the two-day conference. He said that our young students will be able to benefit from the experiences and knowledge of renowned scientists, researchers and scholars from abroad in the conference. He said that the conference will give an opportunity to students of different subjects to understand each other. More than ten foreign speakers participated in the conference, including Prof Dr Abdul Shakoor Chaudhary from the United Kingdom, Prof Dr Yusuf Tutar, Prof Dr Adem Sevik and Prof Dr Volkan from Turkiye, Prof Dr Nigit Shin Lai from Malaysia, Dr Ulkarr from Azerbaijan, Dr Tayyaba from Germany, and Dr Simab Kanwal from Thailand, among several other distinguished international delegates.
